Setting Up Online Bidding
Prior to setting up online bidding, read the Online Bidding help topic. After the initial setup, administrators
can manage the details of online bidding through the Online Catalog Tools link. See the Online Catalog Toolsl / Manage Online Bidding help topic.
In order to allow online / mobile bidding, you must choose either the Mobile Plus™ or Mobile Pro™ package.
Online / mobile bidding requires that you use one of our integrated payment partners.
Refer to our Credit Card Fees help page to determine which of our payment processor partners is right for your group.
To set up an event for online bidding
- Choose one of our integrated payment partners: CardConnect or Worldpay.
- Use the appropriate help page to find the steps to establish an account with CardConnect
or Worldpay.
Silent Auction Pro™ tech support will complete the account configuration for you after your approval has been secured.
- Designate one or more auction items for online bidding. Convert donations to auction items. Items in the Auction Catalog can only be seen by
your guests/users if you set the Show online status to Yes
- Set your bidding start and end time via the Online Catalog Tools page.
- Advertise your online auction!
- Publish your unique Sign up / Registration page link found under in emails, on your
website, via a Facebook Event page, etc. to encourage your prospective bidders to sign up for online bidding.
- Place an announcement on your page that tells potential bidders the date that you will enable online bidding.
- Share the Online Bidding Sign Up page to advertise your auction and get potential bidders to register.
From menu, create your custom message in the Sign Up / Registration message text box.
If you are also selling tickets, be sure to also customize the Tickets page message
- Use the Write Letters, Emails or Custom Reports feature of the Mobile Pro™ packages to send out an email to all your contacts letting them know how to sign-up and
bid on your online auction.
