Glass Pendant 2 by ASHA Retiree Andrea Falzarano

Glass Pendant 2 by ASHA Retiree Andrea Falzarano

Glass Pendant 2 by ASHA Retiree Andrea Falzarano
Value: $50
Donated By: Andrea Falzarano
Description:
When she was not working on issues of governance and operations, ASHA's Andrea Falzarano has done amazing glass work! Now retired, Andrea has donated a number of items to this year's silent auction. In this lot, she is providing a Kintsugi-Style Glass Pendant with gold-plated chain.

This glass pendant follows in the Japanese art of Kintsugi which when something breaks or is considered not useful it is paired with something of value (e.g., gold) to create something new and beautiful. Imperfections are highlighted rather than hidden.

Pendants consist of glass scraps and glass “sludge” which is a byproduct of grinding glass pendants into their final shape. These materials are combined with pieces of 24K gold and fired in a kiln to 1460 degrees multiple times giving it a final and unique look. A gold-plated bail and chain are provided to make each pendant one of a kind.
Restrictions:
This item is available to take home from the Evening with the ASHFoundation, to pick up from the ASHFoundation Booth (#3629) in the ASHA Convention Exhibit Hall on Friday, November 21, or to ship at cost to the winning bidder. All shipping charges will be billed back to the winner following the Silent Auction.
