Using the Bidding Kiosk

When using online bidding, there can be times when some of your guests either do not have access to a smart phone, choose not to create their own online account, or are uncomfortable storing credit card information online.

The bidding kiosk bidding feature from the Check In Tools giving admins and their chosen volunteers a way to record online bids for bidders that are not registered online.

Kiosk bidders only need to be marked in the contact record as a bidder for the event to be allowed to bid. Unlike online bidding, attendees do not need to have a credit card on file. When a kiosk bidder enters an auction item number, the item's image appears on the page along with the current highest bid (or a message telling the bidder if the item has been sold).

To offer kiosk bidding, the group administrator must have purchased the Mobile Plus™ or Mobile Pro™ package. We suggest providing 1-2 bidding kiosks per 100 attendees at your event. Most people will bid on their own devices and the fact that every mobile device is a bidding kiosk minimizes the number of tablet based kiosks you need to provide.

The bidding kiosk feature can also be using in place of tracking sheets for items like drink tickets, wine pulls or other ''hidden'' auction items that are being sold by volunteers.

  3. To prevent guests from unauthorized access to the group's administrative pages, close all other Silent Auction Pro windows after launching the kiosk bidding page.
