Donation categories are used to separate donations into common categories such as dining, vacations, sporting goods, and more.
Donations carry their assigned category into their corresponding auction item. You can change the overall auction item category when creating or editing the auction item. Separating auction items into categories helps bidders focus on items for which they are interested.
After the event, a report is available showing the breakdown of percent return by category, helping the administrators identify which kinds of donations received the highest percentage of return.
