Deleting Contacts

The Silent Auction Pro™ software permits contact owners or admins to delete a contact while preserving historical data related to the deleted contact in the group's archive.

To delete a contact
  1. Navigate to the Contacts menu item.
  2. Choose the Search / Add Contacts option.
  3. Locate the contact and click the trash can icon at the end of the row to delete the contact.
To ensure the integrity of your historical data, contacts who have previously donated or won items at an event will be archived rather than deleted. Archived records are excluded from all searches, and when generating letters and emails. Archive Inactive Contacts

When your list of contacts is full of guests, donors and others that no longer support your organization, you might want to clean up a bit.

  1. Navigate to the Contacts menu item and choose the Find & Archive Inactive Contacts option.
  2. Choose at least 1 of the options and choose a date from which the system will begin looking for contacts that match your criteria.
  3. Click the Find contacts button.
  4. Select all, or a selection of the contacts matching your search criteria.
  5. Click the Archive contacts button to remove these contacts from your list of active contacts.
