Whether you are a longtime resident or new transplant to Mechanicsburg, you will enjoy these two books about the town. Mechanicsburg: A Postcard History Series is a collection of postcards compiled by Bryron Reppert, the second mayor of Mechanicsburg. Through Reppert's postcards learn about the town that was incorporated in 1828, held for three days during the Civil War and grew rapidly because of the Naval Support Activity Base. Mechanicsburg Reflections 1900-2000 was written by longtime resident Josephine Fish Langdon Collitt. She tells stories of the changes in the town which are valuable resources of the growth and history in the 20th century.
