Description:
This original watercolor "The Lesson" is by local artist Bridget Shupp which measures 10" x 12" framed
Before becoming a high school French teacher, Bridget spent a decade pursuing graphic art. She illustrated French textbooks for Harper & Row, Rand McNally and Houghton Mifflin, and designed logos, newsletters, menus, invitations and business cards for several printers in Houston, Texas. She returned to her enthusiasm for art after retiring to the Ozarks and began working with watercolor, a medium she loves in spite of its reputation for being "unforgiving". As subjects she prefers the unusual to the beautiful, the question to the declaration, the anecdotal to the whimsical and the savory to the sweet. Bridget lives with her husband and scores of insects and other wildlife on the shores of Table Rock Lake in Missouri.
