Judy (Holiday Island) After painting primarily in oil for over 20 years, Judy discovered pastels and has enjoyed the wonderful versatility of this medium ever since. Using pastels for the plein air painting is a perfect match for her color expressions and portability when traveling. She also continues to enjoy oil paint as a studio medium particularly for figurative and portrait work. Judy’s formal training was at the University of Michigan, Glassell School of Art and the Houston Student Art League and art workshops. She was Featured Artist at the Four Directions Art Gallery, and had a one woman art show at Studio Three in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. After moving to Colorado Springs, she operated her own gallery, Mountain Spirit Art Gallery, for several years in Old Colorado and sold her work in several area galleries including Patrons Art Gallery in Cherry Creek- Denver, CO as well as participating in many area art shows. Judy also taught oils and pastel painting for Trilakes Center of the Arts and Northwest Colorado College while in Colorado. The during the two years she spent in Arizona, she exhibited and sold her work at Otero Art Gallery and Tubac Center of the Arts, located in Tubac, AZ and was of member of the Tucson Plein Air Painters, Relocating to Holiday Island, AR is an opportunity for Judy to return to the rural and water landscapes she so enjoys painting.
