1. Background
In early February 2026, Elon Musk invited William Shatner to participate in the beta program for X Money, a new electronic payment system associated with X.com.
To initiate testing of the platform, Mr. Musk transferred forty-two (42) electronic U.S. dollars to Mr. Shatner’s account. The number 42 was a reference to Douglas Adams’ The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, in which 42 is famously described as the answer to the “Ultimate Question of Life, the Universe, and Everything.”
With Mr. Musk’s approval, Mr. Shatner chose to use this gift to support his charity, The Hollywood Charity Horse Show.
2. The Charitable Opportunity
Mr. Shatner is offering forty-two (42) individual opportunities.
In exchange for a charitable donation of one thousand U.S. dollars (US $1,000) to The Hollywood Charity Horse Show, each participant will:
- Receive one (1) electronic U.S. dollar from the original forty-two (42) dollars transferred to Mr. Shatner by Mr. Musk
- Receive twenty-five (25) electronic U.S. dollars from the X company as a Welcome Gift
- Be added to the X Money beta program through their eligible X.com account, subject to X.com’s approval and policies.
This initiative allows supporters to participate in the early testing of X Money while directly benefiting The Hollywood Charity Horse Show. You agree by placing this order that the donation is non-refundable.

3. Eligibility Requirements
To participate, you must:
- Be a US Resident. (This is ONLY open to US Residents)
- Be 18 years old or older
- Maintain an active X.com account in good standing.
- Provide your X.com username as requested.
- Agree to and comply with all applicable X.com terms, policies, and beta program requirements.
Upon confirmation of your donation and verification of eligibility, your X.com account will be submitted for inclusion in the X Money beta program. One (1) of the original forty-two (42) electronic dollars will then be transferred from Mr. Shatner’s account to your X Money account.
4. Participant Responsibilities
Participants are responsible for:
- Maintaining the security and integrity of their X.com account;
- Ensuring continued compliance with X.com’s terms of service and beta program rules; and
- Understanding that failure to comply with X.com’s requirements may result in removal from the beta program at X.com’s discretion.
5. Assumption of Risk and Waiver
You acknowledge that beta programs, particularly those involving financial technology, may involve known and unknown risks.
By making your donation and participating in this offering, you:
- Accept and assume all risks associated with participation in the X Money beta program; and
- Agree to waive and release any claims arising from such participation against The Hollywood Charity Horse Show, William Shatner, and any affiliated or associated parties, to the fullest extent permitted by law in your jurisdiction.
6. No Additional Representations
Participation in the X Money beta program is subject at all times to the policies and decisions of X.com. No guarantees are made regarding the duration, performance, or future availability of the beta program.
7. Self Check Out
Participation Once you purchase this buy it now item please go to the shipping cart and in the Invoice notes ADD YOUR X.COM USERNAME (example @JOHNSMITH) so we can ask the X company to activate the beta on your account.
8. What Happens Next?
Once you have successfully checked out we will send your username handle to X for them to activate the beta for X money. (This may take a few days to activate.)
Once we get acknowledgement from X that the Beta is active on your account, Mr. Shatner will send you one of the Elon Dollars he received. The notification will come in the form of a notification on the "Money" tab when viewing your X profile showing a $1.00 payment to your account from Mr. Shatner. In addition X.com will send you a $25.00 Welcome Gift.
You are then free to explore X money and start testing the product out.
