Description:
3 Bottles of Mayacamas Vineyards Wines - 1 each:
2022 Mayacamas Chardonnay 750mL
2021 Mayacamas Merlot 750mL
2019 Mayacamas Cabernet Sauvignon 750mL
2022 Chardonnay:
The wine opens with lifted aromatics, tones of chamomile, yuzu, and marzipan. Compact, focused, and layered on the palate with lemon-grass supported by a lovely fruit set of tangerine, white peach, and Bartlett pear. On the palate there is plenty of drive and energy. Secondary flavors of bergamot, and green cardamom round out the mid-palate. The finish is long with lingering notes of orchard fruit, flint rock and salinity.
2021 Merlot:
The wine opens with lifted aromatics of violet and cacao supported by a lovely fruit set of raspberry, plum, wild blueberry. Savory tones of dried tobacco, thyme, and graphite broaden the mid-palate, bringing detail and nuance to the wine's full body frame. The finish is persistent with lingering notes of berry fruit, cedar, and black tea.
2019 Cabernet Sauvignon:
The 2019 was harvested by hand September 23rd through October 17th. Once the fruit was sorted and destemmed, it was then fermented in concrete (65%) and stainless steel
(35%). Prior to bottling the wine was fermented dry, then aged in large format foudre (10HL–45HL) for 20 months, and neutral French oak barrique (228L) for 14 months. Mount Veeder is a one-of-a-kind appellation with a cooler mountain climate and the lowest yields in Napa Valley. Soils range from poor volcanic deposits to ancient seabed; the grapes produced here retain high acidity and a clean, mineral character.
