Silent Auction Software - Auction Positions Help Page
Auction Positions
To effectively run a silent and live auction you need to staff the following positions:
- Auction Assistants
-
Auction Assistants staff the check-in and check-out area and are responsible for doing the computer work
for your auction. Group Members who will be performing the Auction Assistant role should be granted a member
level of Auction Assistant by the Group Administrator.
- Auction Cashier(s)
-
Auction Cashiers are responsible for collecting admission money and payments for auction items attendees have won. If you have
set up a Merchant Account through Silent Auction Pro, you can accept credit cards directly through
Silent Auction Pro. Group Members with a membership level of Auction Assistant will be able to
process credit cards. Consider if you want all of your Auction Assistants handling money, or only certain people working your
event and direct your attendees to those persons who you have designated as Auction Cashiers.
Note: There is no "Auction Cashier" membership level. This is just a designation you would
assign to a person working your event who you want to handle money. All members or computers logged in with a
Auction Assistant membership level or higher will have access to the credit card processing functionality.
- Table Monitors
-
Table Monitors monitor the silent auction tables during the silent bidding process. Table monitors should immediately pick up
any bid sheets where a bidder has exercised the "Buy It Now" option and take that bid sheet to the check-in / check-out area for
processing. At the close of a section, Table Monitors should pick up all bid sheets and take them to the check-in / check-out
area.
- Spotters
-
Spotters monitor the bidding process during a Live Auction and record winning bids and bidder numbers.
